Treehouse Glamping Smoky Mountains

Experience Glamping in the Smokies

A blend of “glamorous” and “camping”, glamping in the Smokies is a style of vacationing with amenities and conveniences not usually associated with traditional camping. At Smoky Mountain Sky Camp, guests enjoy a nature‑immersive retreat designed with intention, comfort, and conservation in mind. It isn’t a buzzword or a trend — it’s a way of experiencing the Great Smoky Mountains with comfort, curiosity, and respect for the land.

Our elevated treehouses, tucked into the quiet forests of East Tennessee, blend the simplicity of camping with the thoughtful amenities of a boutique stay. Every glamping detail is designed to help you slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with the natural world. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family adventure, or a solo retreat, Sky Camp offers a tranquil setting that feels both welcoming and close to the untamed beauty of the Smokies.

A TREEHOUSE STAY ROOTED IN THE LANDSCAPE

Our treehouses were built to feel like part of the forest. Walls of windows and glass doors frame the treetops and fill each space with natural light. A simple, efficient layout keeps the footprint small while giving you everything you need for a restorative stay — a cozy bed, a tidy kitchenette, a private deck, and a peaceful place to unwind.

During construction, we used nearly every piece of material we purchased, leaving virtually no waste behind. A solar generator powered our tools, rechargeable batteries kept the build quiet and clean, and the forest floor remained undisturbed. The result is a structure that feels like it grew here — a calm, welcoming corner of the Smokies where the landscape still feels wonderfully untouched.

Comfort Meets Sustainability

One of the standout features of this destination is our commitment to eco‑friendly living. We’re dedicated to reducing our ecological footprint and caring for the Great Smoky Mountains through thoughtful, practical choices. Every amenity is chosen with purpose — to give you comfort without unnecessary waste. Guests can enjoy a private bathroom inside each treehouse that minimizes environmental impact. The rainwater-sourced, filtered and sanitized, shower system and the high-end, odorless composting toilet save thousands of gallons of water each year without any burden on municipal treatment plants. Sky Camp also emphasizes sustainable practices throughout its facilities, ensuring that every stay leaves a lighter footprint on the land. Every decision reflects our focus on sustainability, resource conservation, and support for local and eco-friendly products. This balance of comfort and responsibility makes glamping Smoky Mountains not just a vacation, but a conscious choice for travelers who value both relaxation and sustainability.

Seasonal Availability - PLAN YOUR ESCAPE

While we offer unforgettable experiences during the warmer months, it’s important to note that we are closed in the winter. Operations pause from November through March 1st, allowing the grounds to rest and prepare for the next season of visitors. This seasonal closure ensures that when guests return, they’ll find the camp refreshed, well-maintained, and ready to deliver the best possible experience. Planning your trip during the open months guarantees access to all amenities and the full beauty of the smokies.

Glamping Smoky Mountains Style

Glamping here is about comfort that doesn’t compete with nature and simplicity that feels intentional, not sparse. Glamping Smoky Mountains style embraces amenities that enhance the experience, not distract from it, and a stay that leaves the land better than we found it. You’ll wake to birdsong, fall asleep to the hush of the forest, and spend your days exploring the National Park or simply enjoying the quiet of your treehouse deck. It’s camping, elevated — not by excess, but by care. From thoughtful accommodations to the surrounding mountain views, Smoky Mountain Sky Camp offers everything you need for a meaningful outdoor escape. Whether you’re here to hike, stargaze, celebrate, or simply rest, this is a peaceful sanctuary shaped by the land itself. We invite you to experience glamping in the Smokies in a way that feels grounded, restorative, and deeply connected to nature.

Frequently Asked Questions about Glamping

Glamping in the Smokies describes a style of camping with amenities and conveniences not usually associated with "traditional" camping. Glamping at Sky Camp means staying in an elevated, light‑filled treehouse designed to blend comfort with the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s a nature‑immersive experience with thoughtful amenities, not a resort or a cabin. We keep things simple, intentional, and connected to the land.

Mainstream camping usually means tents, sleeping bags, and packing your own gear. Traditional camping also braves the weather elements and bushes for bathrooms! However, glamping in the Smokies at Sky Camp gives you: a comfy bed with real pillows and blankets; a useful kitchenette with cookware, dishes, and utensils; a private bathroom inside with a clean, heated shower; bath towels and washcloths, toiletries and eco‑friendly cleaning supplies; and a private fire ring and chairs. You still get the peace, stars, and fresh air of camping — just with more convenient comfort and far less packing.

Absolutely. Sky Camp is designed for guests who love nature but appreciate comfort. If you’ve never camped before — or if you love the outdoors but prefer a real bed and a private bathroom — treehouse glamping here is the perfect fit.

During cooler months, all treehouses are supplied with an indoor-safe propane space heater for your overnight sleeping comfort. For the warmer summer months, Treehouses 2 & 3 are equipped with air conditioning; Treehouse #1 enjoys natural airflow with screened windows, a ceiling fan, and shade of the forest canopy on a north-facing slope of the mountain.

Sky Camp is perfectly positioned for both adventure and relaxation. Guests enjoy close-by hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, waterfalls, scenic drives, and wildlife viewing, rafting on the Pigeon River, fly‑fishing in mountain streams, and local shops, orchards, and small‑town eateries in Cosby, Hartford, and Newport, TN. Whether you want to explore or unwind, you’ll find plenty to do.

We operate seasonally and welcome guests from March through early November. The winter months are reserved for maintenance, improvements, and giving the land a rest.

Reservations are available directly through our website, up to six months in advance. Seasonal openings are announced, and popular dates fill quickly. Booking early ensures you get your preferred dates. If desired dates are more than six months in the future, please call us (423) 248-5805 for special booking arrangements.
